My nephew, Seth, came over for his 3 month photos last week. He is such a great baby - so smiley! I love it when babies chew on their fingers and, by the photos below, you can see he was a chewin' machine!

Mabry

Two week old Mabry and her family came to visit us for photos last week. She was so sweet and alert. This girl has her two older brothers wrapped around her little finger! :)

...LIGHT! We were hit with a massive ice storm this weekend, leaving us without power for two days...ah! Never have I been so happy to see the little light inside my fridge turn on, than I was last night! My apologies if my website and email were down - I'm blaming it all on the weather :)
We're supposed to get another storm system coming in this week and I'm nervous - I like heat and light...please don't let it go away again!
We've been busy with lots of photo shoots this past week and we're also between weddings - promise I'll get some sample images up here soon!

Maelyn

Sweet little Maelyn came over for photos yesterday and we had a blast! Her mommy brought a tutu and a bow so we got a little girly! Here are a few of my favorite shots:

My Valentine...

...is a sweet little two year old named Grant (and, of course, his daddy, Stephen!) Two years ago, Stephen and I welcomed Grant into this world on Valentine's Day and it's been such a blessing to have him be part of our lives. We haven't had the chance to take his 2 year old pics yet, so here's the most recent. He's very serious in this photo, contemplating the ways of the world (or possibly wondering where he's lost his sippy cup full of milk this time... :)

After a fun weekend, it was nice to return home again tonight...exhausted, but excited about all of my new ideas. I can't wait to implement all of the new things I learned!
Even more fun was the phone call from a friend letting me know that my print below earned 2nd in the weddings category of the Professional Photographers of Iowa 2007 print competition!
Considering I have never before attended a print competition, I was thrilled to hear one of my prints placed so well!
Thanks Jon and Kristi for being such wonderful models and such fun to work with on your wedding day! It obviously shows in the photos!

A Few Hundred Photographers

and I will be gathering together this weekend to share and LEARN! Not only do I get to go back to my old stompin' grounds (Des Moines is where my family and I lived before moving to West Branch), I get to eat at my old favorite restaurants, visit some friends, and learn lots of sweet new techniques!
I can't wait!
So, if you have a hard time reaching us this weekend, we're off adding to our infinite knowledge :)
