Happy Birthday Nathan!

In celebration of his one year birthday, Rena brought her son Nathan to us for photos! He is such a happy little guy - always smiling and laughing...what a joy to photograph!

Oh Baby!

Yesterday, I was exactly three weeks away from my due date for this baby - and I am sure ready for him to get here! I thought I'd share a couple of maternity photos my husband, Stephen took of my belly and our two year old son, Grant...

Jaden, Sydney & Jayse...

...these three little kiddos came over for a shoot recently and we had some fun! Jaden and Sydney are the first set of twins I've photographed and they are so cute! Jayse is only 2 months old and I think he's adoraable! Here are some of my favorites!

If You Won the Lottery...

...what would you do? My husband and I were having this discussion last week after learning of the truck driver who won half of the largest lottery prize in history. Here's the link to the story.

We talked of all the traveling we'd do and got really excited! But, when Stephen asked me if I'd quit my job I didn't know what to say! After a few minutes of thinking I said NO! I love what I DO!!!! Maybe I'd work a little less but I, honestly, cannot see my life without photography - it's such a big part of who I am. I feel pretty fortunate to have discovered what I want to do with the rest of my life at such a young age - and I'm excited to keep doing it!

Life Lesson Learned...

...no matter how much you love Ikea don't take a 6 hour road trip there when you're almost 9 months pregnant! We had a great day shopping and will be visiting friends and family for a little while longer but, honestly, I'm ready to get home! :)

You Betcha!

We're off to my home state of Minnesota to spend a few days visiting friends and family before baby number two comes (I'm due April 16th!) I'm so excited to get to go to my favorite store, Ikea, to grab some funky props for my studio! My husband isn't so excited though - because I take FOREVER when we go in that store! (With all of the trandy stuff, I just get lost in Swedish style heaven :)
Oh well - Minnesota, here we come!

Stephanie & Chad...

...got married March 3rd and we had a great time photographing their wedding! With a ceremony in a country church and the reception at Iowa Wesleyan College, they had a beautiful day. They were serious troopers too...they even ran outside, with the whole wedding party, to do a few photos in twenty degree weather! The photos show that it was a great day!

So I've Been Thinking...

...and I know it can be dangerous! But, I've really been thinking about ways to better my business lately. New products...new services...new equipment...I've sort of been contemplating tons of new things! My goal is to be a business owner that is always implementing something new and exciting. I never want to fall in the trap of, "I do this because I always have." Instead, I want to say, "I do this because it rocks my world!"
The most exciting new service we've recently added to our line up is Destination Weddings! We're thrilled to be photographing Amber and David's wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico this summer and would love to do more. It's nice to spice things up with a different location every once and a while - and what's better than a fiesta!?!?!??!
So, if you're considering a wedding far away from Iowa, give us a buzz - because we're definitely up to the challenge!

What a fun couple! Jared loves Lea like crazy and she is a blast to be around - so funny! Stephen and I had a ton of fun with these two at their wedding two weeks ago. Even though the weather was a little chilly we ran outside for some fun photos. Thanks guys!

Grant

My son, Grant, recently turned two and we finally got around to taking a few photos of him this past week. I decided to make something fun to decorate his room...he had fun because he could run around all he wanted during this photo shoot and it was ok!
